First swimming session

We had our first session of swimming at Stokes Valley pool today.  Not a single person forgot their togs, or left any of their things behind at the pool.  Tu meke!  Everyone did really well and seemed to enjoy their first lesson.  Here we are being amazing:

Compliment poster

We made a sign this afternoon with our name on it.  We taped it on our backs, and then we went around and wrote compliments to lots of different people.  It is always a nice thing to write a compliment, but even nicer to receive one (or a whole page of them!)

PS  There is so much writing and reading involved in this activity!  Not bad for a Friday afternoon :)

Super duper maths!

Dhruvika, Kimmy and Aubree have been working on some really challenging maths that includes subtraction with two 3-digit numbers.  They use cuisenaire rods, or abacus, to support their problem solving.  All three independently solved the very difficult problem in the first photo!

Learning more NZSL

Thank you Louise!

Charlotte is tapping on Kimmy's shoulder to let her know she is about to sign to her.

Ngahere's epic Capture the Flag game

With the unexpected sunshine, we all got together as a pod to play a game of Capture the Flag yesterday.  It was such a great (and enjoyable) success that we repeated it again today.  It has been amazing to see our PARK values in practice - porihanga (joining in), aroha (showing love), rangatiratanga (having pride) and kaitiakitanga (looking after each other).

Science day

We had a fun day of science today.  We used a science kit called Food for Thought - He Kai mā to Hinengaro.   "Each ingredient in a p...
