Our composting crew

Please meet Panata Pango, the reading group/composting crew who have researched and developed a composting programme for all of our kura (school)!  The composting system will be trialled in Rereroa class, Awarua class, Mokomoko class, and the staffroom.  If it works, we are going to try it in some more classes in our kura.

This was us during our initial research stage:

Please note:  this is an unlisted video - that means that without the link, you cannot find or view this video which ensures it is private just to our kura community.

These are the composting buckets that you might see around kura.  We made the posters on the front to show you what can and cannot go into the buckets.  Don't they look fantastic?

Tī Uru

Tī Uru is a ball game that is fun, amazing and exciting.  We are learning with Jarod from play.sport, and soon we will be ready to teach the rest of Ngahere and then Maunga!

"We had to listen to our team mate to pass it on" - Dhruvika
"The yellow team won because the blue team didn't spread out enough" - Aubree
"People stand in the hoops so if the person with the ball passes it to them, they get a point" - Alexie
"The ball can't hit the floor, and you need to be arms length away from someone" - Aaron
"We need lots of players because if you don't have enough, the other team will have more people to pass to and that makes it easier" - Kimmy.
